Pickleball

Pickleball is a paddle sport with elements of tennis, table tennis, and badminton, using a lightweight paddle and plastic ball. The

game is played as singles and doubles. For more information on how to play, see this video (click here) or read the following (click here).

Pickleball, being a low-impact sport, is considered by many experts to be easy to learn and very beginner-friendly. With the advantage

of low impact on the body, it is suitable for all ages. Above all, the sport not only allows the participants to be active, but it also

provides anopportunity to meet other people.

More importantly to us, pickleball has now arrived at North Balwyn Bowls Club (NBBC), which is located within the City of

Boroondara (Ashburton, Balwyn, Balwyn North, Burwood, Camberwell, Canterbury, Deepdene, Glen Iris, Glenferrie South,

Greythorn, Hawthorn, Hawthorn East, Kew, Kew East, Mont Albert, and Surrey Hills).

Pickleball sessions are held on:

  • Tuesdays evenings     7.00pm - 9.00pm
  • Wednesday evenings  7.00pm -  9.00pm
  • Friday mornings          9.30am - 11.00am

Please show your support by booking your tickets on our Events page.

A fee of  $9.50 (members) and $12.50 (visitors) to cover our coach, nets, balls, and paddles. will now apply. Full-court bookings are available for Tuesday sessions.
